What is a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES)?
This is a digital certificate issued by licensed certification service providers, as defined in the Electronic Document and Certification Services Act .
In certain cases, to perform a transfer, you must enter a one-time password received via SMS or an automated phone call to your specified mobile number.
* Transactions with third parties in the m-Postbank mobile app can only be confirmed using the m-Token Postbank software token. For e-Postbank, one of the listed means can be used.
Qualified Electronic Signature
- Install the QES and its software on your computer following the publisher's instructions.
- Register your QES in e-Postbank.bg via the menu: Profile >> QES Management, button "Register QES".
Registration of QES in e-Postbank.bg needs to be completed once, for the duration of its validity.
You can use it on multiple computers after installing it according to the publisher’s instructions.
To stop using your QES in e-Postbank, you must submit a form at a bank branch.
Important Security Recommendations
Eurobank Bulgaria recommends the following security practices when using a qualified electronic signature to ensure proper protection:
- QES is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature, so protect it as you would your ID documents.
- Insert the smart card or USB key only when signing, and remove it immediately afterward.
- Leaving the signature device connected increases the risk of misuse or fraud. Report any suspected misuse to the signature issuer and the bank immediately.
- Registering a new QES in e-Postbank.bg deactivates the previous certificate. Delete the old certificate from your browser.
- If your certificate is renewed or replaced, all previously signed but unprocessed payments (e.g., future-dated or pending) will be rejected. They must be signed again.
