Important information about the Postbank-Piraeus Bank merger

Dear Clients, 

As we have already informed you, the acquisition of the majority stake of the capital of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD (Piraeus Bank) by Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank) was finalized on 13 June 2019. The two institutions are moving forward together towards their legal and operational merger.

18 November 2019 is set to be the date of the operational merger of Piraeus Bank and Postbank.

Piraeus Bank’s clients will become Postbank’s clients as of the Date of the legal merger and the changes in the provisions of the existing contracts, General Terms and Conditions, Tariffs and Interest Rate Bulletins, concerning Piraeus Bank’s clients, will be enforced as of the Date of operational merger.

Some of the most significant changes to enter into force as of the date of the operational merger, set to occur on 18 November 2019, include:

Account IBAN change:

Following the operational merger of Piraeus Bank and Postbank, your bank account number (IBAN) will be automatically replaced with a new one.

In due time, you will receive your new IBAN:

  • Via the automatic generator, specially created for the purpose and available on www.postbank.bg, in the Information for the Clients of Piraeus Bank section;

  • At phone numbers 0 700 12 002 or 0 700 18 555;

  • Via EVA Postbank;

  • In the offices of the two banks.

Important! As of the operational merger, outgoing and incoming transactions from/to your account with your old IBAN from Piraeus Bank will not be possible. This is why, you need to notify all of your counterparties of your new IBAN before that date.

Reissue of debit/credit cards:

Your new Postbank debit/credit cards, which will replace your Piraeus Bank cards after the operational merger of the two institutions, have already been issued and delivered to a Postbank office. Details about which office you can pick them up at is available in the text message we have sent you or via the search engine on https://apply.postbank.bg/Piraeus/Locations.aspx, specially developed for the purpose, or at 0700 18 555 or *7224 (short code for mobile operators).

You can submit a request to receive your card free of charge to another, more convenient Postbank office (including in another city) at the above-mentioned phone number.

 

Changes in Piraeus Bank’s internet banking?

Following the operational merger of Postbank and Piraeus Bank, Postbank’s internet banking functionality, e-Postbank, and mobile banking functionality, m-Postbank, will replace WinBank and WinBank Mobile. To use them, you need to download the free app, m-Token Postbank. To activate it, you need to have provided us with accurate and full personal data, including a mobile phone number and an email address. If you have not or you have changed them, please, visit a Postbank office to update them.
