Grace period and

credit card payment

Each month, you will receive a statement (by email or by post in paper format) providing a detailed overview of the transactions made during the period, as well as any interest and fees due. The issue date of your monthly statement is indicated in the letter sent to you together with your new credit card. Your statement is also available through Postbank’s online and mobile banking.

Within the payment period specified in your statement, you have the following options:

You can make your monthly credit card payment in the following ways:

How can you use your Postbank credit card for everyday expenses without paying interest?

Thanks to the grace period of up to 50 days for credit card purchases (up to 45 days for purchases and cash withdrawals with a Mastercard Cash card), you can use the funds for purchases without paying interest for a period of up to 50 days. The exact grace period depends on the transaction date and the date of your monthly card statement.

The Bank does not charge interest on card purchases if you repay the full outstanding amount for the current statement period within the applicable grace period.

For example, if your statement is issued on the 10th of the month and the payment due date is the 31st, a purchase made before the due date will have a grace period from the transaction date until the payment due date. If you make a purchase at a POS terminal on the 1st, your grace period will be 31 days.

The longest grace period applies when you make a purchase immediately after the statement issue date, as the transaction will appear on the following statement, giving you up to 50 days to make the payment.

You also have the option, by contacting our Call Centre, to split any purchase or cash withdrawal into 3, 6, 9 or 12 equal monthly instalments without interest, subject to a minimal fee. This allows you to plan your repayments over time while enjoying favourable terms for using funds from your credit limit, as no interest will be charged on the purchase during the selected instalment period.
