BNP Paribas Personal Finance S.A., Paris, France, and Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank) entered into an agreement under which the business of BNP Paribas Personal Finance S.A. – Bulgaria Branch (BNP Paribas Personal Finance) was acquired by Postbank.

As a result of the transaction, Postbank strengthened its leading position in retail banking and became the second-largest player in the consumer lending market, adding a new customer base to its portfolio and acquiring a portfolio of more than BGN 960 million in consumer loans. This portfolio creates significant opportunities for cross-selling, as well as for the implementation of innovative digital solutions designed to enhance customer convenience. Following the successful completion of the transaction, a team of highly experienced professionals with proven expertise and strategic vision in banking joined Postbank.

Following the transfer of the business, Postbank will continue to provide the full range of services previously offered by BNP Paribas Personal Finance through its PB Personal Finance by Postbank product line to both existing and new customers, while maintaining the same high standard of service. In accordance with the agreement, Postbank will also add the “Future Deposits” platform to its portfolio of financial services for individual customers, enabling deposits to be opened and managed entirely online.

The business of BNP Paribas Personal Finance will continue under a new brand and name – PB Personal Finance by Postbank.

There will be no changes to the terms and conditions of the products and services you currently use, provided by BNP Paribas Personal Finance, or to the methods of making instalment payments for the credit products you currently use.

The contact details you currently use will also remain unchanged.

The BNP Paribas Personal Finance offices will continue to operate as before and will be rebranded as PB Personal Finance by Postbank.

Up-to-date information regarding the integration will be available through several communication channels:

  • Publications on the official websites:

  • Personal communication using the contact details you have provided (email address and mobile phone number);

  • Contact with Postbank Customer Service Centre experts at 0700 12 002;

  • Contact with the Customer Service Centre experts for customers using products and services of PB Personal Finance by Postbank at 0700 11 811.

Effective as of May 13, 2024, the provision of the “Remote Banking for Individual Customers for Deposit Products and Accounts – Future Deposits” service will be discontinued, and access to and operation of the Electronic System (online platform) for managing deposit accounts, will be terminated.

On the same date, the operational integration of the systems will take place, whereby your deposit accounts opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance will be transferred to Postbank’s core banking system.

In connection with these changes, please note that, effective as of May 13, 2024, the General Terms and Conditions for Deposit Products and Deposit Accounts – “Future Deposits” (hereinafter referred to as the “General Terms and Conditions for Future Deposits”) will be repealed and replaced in their entirety by the General Terms and Conditions for Opening, Maintaining and Closing Bank Accounts of Individuals with Eurobank Bulgaria AD (hereinafter referred to as the “Postbank General Terms and Conditions”).

As of the same date, the Rules and Conditions for Remote Banking for Individual Customers for Deposit Products and Accounts – “Future Deposits” (hereinafter referred to as the “Future Deposits Remote Banking Rules”) will also be repealed.

An integral part of Postbank’s General Terms and Conditions are the Tariff of Fees and Commissions Applied by Eurobank Bulgaria AD to Services Provided to Individual Customers (the “Postbank Tariff”) and the Interest Rate Bulletin of Eurobank Bulgaria AD for Individual Customers (the “Postbank Interest Rate Bulletin”). The above-mentioned Postbank General Terms and Conditions, Tariff and Interest Rate Bulletins are published on the Bank’s website and are available at all Postbank branches.

Should you not accept the proposed changes to the General Terms and Conditions for Future Deposits and the Future Deposits Remote Banking Rules, you have the right to object to such changes by terminating the agreement for the respective deposit product or service concluded with BNP Paribas Personal Finance. To do so, you must submit a written request to Postbank by May 13, 2024, without being liable for any costs, fees, penalties or compensation.

Until the date of the operational integration, you will have the opportunity to transfer your funds to a new Postbank deposit. You may choose to retain the existing terms and conditions of your deposit, including its term and interest rate, or select another deposit product from Postbank’s wide range of savings solutions.

To do so, you will need to visit a Postbank branch providing services to individual customers of your choice (excluding PB Personal Finance branches and Momento centres).

When opening a new Postbank deposit and transferring the funds from your existing deposit opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the interest accrued up to the date of the transfer will be retained. No fees, penalties or other compensation will be charged for the early termination of the existing deposit, nor will any fees be charged for transferring the funds to the new deposit.

On the date of the operational integration, simultaneously with the discontinuation of the “Remote Banking for Individual Customers for Deposit Products and Accounts – Future Deposits” service, all remaining deposits held through the online platform will also be operationally transferred to Postbank’s core banking system, under the following conditions:

  • The annual interest rate and currency of the transferred deposit will remain unchanged, in accordance with the terms agreed upon when the deposit was opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance.

  • As of the date of the operational integration, the deposit will be renewed for a new term equal to the initial term agreed upon when the deposit was opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance.

    You will have the right to terminate your deposit and dispose of your funds at any time following the renewal, while retaining the interest accrued and without paying any fees, penalties or other compensation for the early termination of the deposit.

On May 31, 2023, Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank) acquired the business of BNP Paribas Personal Finance S.A. – Bulgaria Branch (BNP Paribas Personal Finance), as communicated to you in a prior notice. As of that date, all deposits opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance were transferred to Postbank.

On March 12, 2024, Postbank published a notice regarding upcoming changes to the servicing of deposit accounts opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance.

Effective May 13, 2024, the operational integration of the deposit business of BNP Paribas Personal Finance with that of Postbank will take place. This is the planned next stage of the integration process and, as of this date, certain changes will apply to the way customers with deposits opened with BNP Paribas Personal Finance manage their deposit products.

As of May 13, 2024, the “Remote Banking for Individual Customers for Deposit Products and Accounts” service, available through the “Future Deposits” online portal at [deposits.postbank.bg], will no longer be available. Access to this portal will be discontinued as of the same date.

As of the same date, deposits opened through the “Future Deposits” online portal will be subject to the General Terms and Conditions for Opening, Maintaining and Closing Bank Accounts of Individuals with Eurobank Bulgaria AD, the Tariff of Fees and Commissions Applied by Eurobank Bulgaria AD to Services Provided to Individual Customers, and the Interest Rate Bulletin of Eurobank Bulgaria AD for Individual Customers (the “Postbank General Terms and Conditions, Tariff and Interest Rate Bulletin”).

If you choose to renew your deposit before the date of the operational integration, you must visit a Postbank branch providing services to individual customers (excluding PB Personal Finance branches and Momento centres) in person by May 13, 2024. After this date, any active deposit that has not been renewed will be automatically transferred to Postbank’s core banking system under the conditions specified above. In this case, you will not be required to sign a new agreement.

If you do not agree with the upcoming changes or, for any other reason, wish to close your deposit, you may submit a closure request through the “Future Deposits” portal, as before. Until the expiry of the notice period, you have the right provided by law to object to the changes by closing your deposits, without being liable for any costs or compensation. The Bank will pay you the respective deposit together with all interest accrued up to the date of closure, without charging any fees or commissions for the transfer.

Deposits with Postbank are guaranteed by the Bulgarian Deposit Insurance Fund (BDIF) pursuant to the Bank Deposit Guarantee Act. Detailed information on the applicable deposit guarantee mechanism is available on the Fund’s website: dif.bg.

Please note that if you had deposits with both BNP Paribas Personal Finance and Postbank prior to Postbank’s acquisition of the business of BNP Paribas Personal Finance on June 1, 2023, following the acquisition these deposits will be covered separately by the BDIF for a period of six months.

After the expiry of this period, the deposits of an individual or legal entity held with BNP Paribas Personal Finance and Postbank prior to the acquisition, together with the interest accrued on them, will be aggregated for the purposes of the deposit guarantee, up to a total amount of BGN 196,000, in accordance with Article 12, Paragraph 1 of the Bank Deposit Guarantee Act.

You are not required to sign a new agreement for your existing deposit.

Yes, you will be able to continue using your card in the same way as before, with no changes to its terms and conditions. When your card expires or if it needs to be reissued for any other reason, you will be issued a new card in accordance with the terms and conditions of your agreement.

As of the date of the integration, there will be no changes to the fees, interest rates or other terms and conditions applicable to your credit card issued by BNP Paribas Personal Finance.

The terms and payment due dates for instalments under your purchase financing agreement will remain unchanged and will continue to apply in accordance with the agreement you signed with BNP Paribas Personal Finance.

You can continue to use your credit card limit to purchase new goods, shop online, make payments at POS terminals, withdraw cash from ATMs, and transfer funds from your card to a bank account, just as you have done so far. The options and terms and conditions set out in your agreement with BNP Paribas Personal Finance will remain valid.

The terms and conditions and maturity of your loan agreement with BNP Paribas Personal Finance will remain unchanged.

If you have both a loan provided by BNP Paribas Personal Finance and a loan provided by Postbank, you should continue servicing both loans without any changes to the applicable terms, conditions or repayment schedules, in accordance with the respective agreements you have entered into.

If your loan provided by BNP Paribas Personal Finance is subject to preferential terms and conditions, these will remain valid in accordance with the terms of your loan agreement.

The terms and conditions of the insurance policies arranged through the intermediation of BNP Paribas Personal Finance, including the premium, covered risks, payment method and other applicable terms, will remain unchanged. For insurance policies taken out in connection with credit products, Postbank will be the beneficiary up to the amount of the outstanding credit obligation. There will be no change for risks where the customer is the beneficiary.

There will be no changes to insurance policies that are not related to credit products.

Payment of your instalments will continue using the payment methods currently available and agreed upon in your contract.

For your convenience, you will also be able to pay instalments on loans provided by BNP Paribas Personal Finance at Postbank branches or by bank transfer to the respective account indicated below:

  • BG 15 BPBI 9920 10 60006000 – for payments of credit card instalments

  • BG 66 BPBI 9920 10 10001000 – for payments of instalments under purchase financing loans

  • BG 17 BPBI 9920 10 20002000 – for payments of instalments under cash loans (consumer loans)

Account holder: EUROBANK BULGARIA AD

The payment reference remains unchanged: the loan number specified in your agreement.

Examples:

  • CARD-12345678 – for credit cards

  • CREX-12345678 – for purchase financing loans

  • PLUS-12345678 – for cash loans

Any powers of attorney previously submitted to BNP Paribas Personal Finance are valid only for one-off actions and will no longer be valid going forward.

The addresses of the offices where you have previously used the products and services of BNP Paribas Personal Finance will remain unchanged. These offices will continue to operate and serve customers without any changes. Following the integration, they will be gradually rebranded as PB Personal Finance by Postbank.

Following the integration, the branch network operating under the PB Personal Finance by Postbank brand will remain separate from Postbank’s other branch network and will continue to operate on a separate system. At this stage, customers using products and services previously provided by BNP Paribas Personal Finance will continue to be serviced exclusively at these offices.

Accordingly, if you use other products and services provided by Postbank, you will not be able to receive service for those products and services at the branch network operating under the PB Personal Finance by Postbank brand.
