Which powers of attorney are accepted by the Bank?

The power of attorney must have been certified by a Bulgarian notary public after May 2016.

Powers of attorney issued by mayors will not be accepted.

The power of attorney must be signed at a Bulgarian diplomatic or consular mission; after it is submitted to the bank, a verification process is conducted, which, according to procedure, takes up to 30 days and is subject to a fee in accordance with the Fee Schedule.

The text of the power of attorney is unrestricted and should reflect the will of the principal. The following must be listed:

The name of the bank (“Eurobank Bulgaria” AD)
all actions that the authorized representative may perform
Please note that if the account is “inactive,” the action to reactivate it must also be included in the text.
