When your new card and PIN are delivered to a Postbank branch, you will be notified by SMS of the branch where they can be collected and its address. You can also obtain this information by calling 0700 18 555 (*7224 – short number for mobile operators) or 0700 12 002. If you have both a credit and a debit card, you will receive both cards at the same Postbank branch.

If you receive your salary into an account opened with Piraeus Bank and your employer has an agreement with Piraeus Bank for bulk salary payments, your new Postbank debit card may be delivered personally by Bank employees to your workplace, in accordance with the Bank’s customer identification procedures. You will receive additional information from your employer.

To collect your new debit or credit card, you will be required to sign a new agreement and the relevant Postbank General Terms and Conditions for the issuance and use of debit or credit cards, as applicable.

If your existing debit or credit card has an additional/supplementary card, the supplementary cardholder will also be required to visit a Postbank branch in person to sign a new agreement and the relevant Postbank General Terms and Conditions for the issuance and use of debit or credit cards, as applicable.

Once you receive your new card, it will not be activated immediately and cannot be used until the operational integration date.

As of the operational integration date, your card will be activated automatically and you will be able to use it.

Your new Postbank card will have a validity period of three years (five years for business debit cards).

Your existing debit or credit card will be replaced with a new Postbank card.

The new card will be linked to the same account (with a new IBAN) to which your existing card was linked, and you will continue to have access to the available funds in that account.

As of the operational integration date, all “Micro Tag” contactless wristbands provided by Piraeus Bank for use with debit cards issued by the Bank will be deactivated. They will not be replaced by an alternative Postbank product.

If, as of August 5, 2019, you had not used your Piraeus Bank debit card for more than 12 months, a new Postbank debit card may not be issued to you automatically. You can check whether a new card has been issued by contacting our experts at 0700 12 002 or 0700 18 555. If your new debit card has not been issued automatically, you can request one at your nearest Postbank branch.

If you have no overdue outstanding balance, your new Postbank credit card will be issued automatically and delivered to a Postbank branch, where you can collect it.

If you do not wish to receive a new Postbank credit card, you must settle all outstanding obligations under your existing credit card agreement with Piraeus Bank.

If, as of July 30, 2019, you had an overdue balance on your existing Piraeus Bank credit card for more than 90 calendar days, a new Postbank credit card will not be issued automatically. No changes are envisaged to the terms and conditions of the insurance products and services you currently use through the intermediation of Piraeus Insurance Broker or Piraeus Bank acting as an insurance agent, until the expiry of the relevant insurance policies. Upon expiry, where the applicable terms and conditions provide for a renewal option, the insurance policies will be automatically renewed under the then-current terms and conditions of the respective insurer applicable to Postbank customers. Should any other changes be required, you will be notified in advance within the statutory notice period.

Effective November 1, 2019, Piraeus Insurance Broker EOOD will cease its insurance distribution activities and will subsequently be removed from the register of insurance brokers maintained by the Financial Supervision Commission.

In order to ensure the proper servicing of insurance policies arranged through its intermediation and to prevent any interruption of the insurance coverage provided by the insurers, Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD, effective as of the same date, November 1, 2019, has appointed I&G Insurance Brokers OOD to provide insurance intermediation services, including the servicing and administration of all existing insurance contracts and individual insurance coverages provided to borrowers and mortgagors as security for their obligations to the Bank in connection with their loan agreements.

For this purpose, agreements have been entered into between Piraeus Insurance Broker EOOD and I&G Insurance Brokers OOD, as well as agreements with the respective insurers and amendments to the Group Insurance Agreements entered into between the Bank and Euroins Insurance AD, Nova Ins EAD, Euroins Life Insurance AD, and NN Biztosító Zrt., Hungary, through NN Insurance Company – Sofia Branch.

In view of the forthcoming legal merger of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD with Eurobank Bulgaria AD, Eurobank Bulgaria AD is also a party to the agreements relating to the Group Insurance Agreements.

The only exception is the Group Life Insurance Agreement for Borrowers entered into with NN Biztosító Zrt., Hungary, through NN Insurance Company – Sofia Branch, under which the insured persons will not be enrolled with the assistance of an insurance broker. Where necessary and subject to the express consent of the person to be insured, the creditor – Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD, and following the merger, Eurobank Bulgaria AD – will provide assistance, free of charge, in arranging insurance coverage for that person.

The above changes will not affect the terms and conditions of the insurance products currently used by customers.

Upon expiry of the insurance policy or the period of individual insurance coverage, where the terms and conditions of the relevant insurance product provide for renewal or continuation for a new insurance period, the insurance will be renewed with the assistance of I&G Insurance Brokers OOD, under the terms and conditions of the respective insurer applicable to customers of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD and, respectively, Eurobank Bulgaria AD.

Accordingly, all certificates with a commencement date after November 1, 2019, as well as renewals of insurance policies or individual insurance coverages provided as security for the Bank’s claims under granted loans, will be issued and serviced by I&G Insurance Brokers OOD, unless customers expressly object to this in writing.

If a customer objects, they will be responsible for ensuring proper compliance with their obligation under the loan agreement to maintain valid insurance coverage throughout the term of the loan and until all obligations thereunder have been fully repaid.

We would like to inform you that on June 13, 2019, Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank), part of the Eurobank Group, completed the acquisition of the share capital of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD (Piraeus Bank Bulgaria).

Over the following months, two important stages will take place – the legal merger and operational integration of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria with Postbank. Until the completion of the legal merger, the two financial institutions will continue to operate as before, as separate legal entities within the same financial group. Following the legal merger, Postbank will become the legal successor of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria.

The date of the legal merger will be announced in due time in this section and on the Piraeus Bank Bulgaria website – www.piraeusbank.bg – as well as at the branches of both institutions.

Our priority is to continue providing Piraeus Bank Bulgaria customers with high-quality investment intermediation services. In order to ensure the highest level of customer service in connection with the upcoming changes and the alignment of the systems of the two banks, we invite all customers who have entered into an investment intermediation agreement with Piraeus Bank Bulgaria to enter into a new investment intermediation agreement with Postbank by visiting a convenient Postbank financial center offering these services.

List of Eurobank Bulgaria AD branches providing investment intermediation services

In the meantime, you can review Postbank’s General Terms and Conditions for Transactions in Financial Instruments and Tariff at the following electronic addresses:

Postbank holds a full banking license issued by the Bulgarian National Bank, No. B-05/02.04.1991, and is registered in the investment intermediaries register of the Financial Supervision Commission under Reg. No. R-05-129/19.05.1997. In addition to its standard lending and deposit-taking activities, the Bank provides comprehensive financial solutions enabling its customers to access a wide range of financial products available both on the Bulgarian market and on numerous international financial instrument markets.

Please note that if you do not enter into a new investment intermediation agreement with Postbank or another investment intermediary by the date of the legal merger, customers who have an investment intermediation agreement with Piraeus Bank Bulgaria will no longer be able to submit orders for transactions in financial instruments.

Please also note that following the legal merger, the custody arrangements for customers’ financial instruments will change for certain assets, namely foreign securities and Bulgarian eurobonds traded abroad. Financial instruments held in Piraeus Bank Bulgaria’s account with Piraeus Bank Greece will be transferred to an account of Eurobank Bulgaria AD with the respective foreign central securities depository/custodian institution.

For customers holding Bulgarian securities and government securities (government bonds) recorded in the registers of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria at Central Depository AD and the Bulgarian National Bank, respectively, there will be no change in the place of custody of their assets. These assets will continue to be recorded in a sub-register maintained by Eurobank Bulgaria.

For the Postbank team, as part of the strong international financial group Eurobank, it will be a privilege to become your trusted partner and continue to provide you with high-quality, value-added services. We are confident that our extensive expertise and long-standing strategic presence on the Bulgarian market will enable us to meet your expectations and continue moving forward together towards success.

Before the operational integration date, changes will be introduced regarding the powers of attorney currently used at Piraeus Bank. The specific date on which these changes will take effect will be announced additionally in this section and at Postbank and Piraeus Bank branches. The requirements set out below will also apply after the operational integration date, in accordance with the Postbank General Terms and Conditions for Accounts.

The powers of attorney accepted by the Bank must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Certified by a Bulgarian notary after May 1, 2016;

  • Certified by a Bulgarian diplomatic or consular mission;

  • Internal bank powers of attorney, prepared using the Bank’s standard form.

If your existing power of attorney does not meet any of the requirements listed above, in order to better protect your interests, you will need to issue and provide a new power of attorney in accordance with the Bank’s requirements outlined above.

If you choose to provide an internal bank power of attorney using the Bank’s standard form, you will need to visit a Bank branch and sign the document in the presence of a Bank employee, together with the person you are authorizing.

When visiting the branch, we also ask you to check and, if necessary, update your contact details, so that we can reach you with important information.

For more information, please contact your servicing Bank branch or our experts at 0700 12 002 or 0700 18 555 (*7224 – short number for mobile operators).

After successfully entering your login credentials, you will be required to create a new password. You can use the same login credentials to access the Postbank App mobile banking application. If we do not yet have your email address when you first log in, you will have the opportunity to provide it.

If you already have a Postbank Web profile, it will remain unchanged, and you will have two separate profiles, with the respective access rights to your accounts and products. If you wish to have a single profile providing access to all your accounts and products, you can request this at a Postbank branch.

Transfer limits

The transaction limits for Postbank’s and Piraeus Bank’s online and mobile banking services differ. For security reasons, you will be assigned standard daily transaction limits in accordance with Postbank’s applicable procedures.

Account and credit product management

The accounts and products that were available in your WinBank profile will also be available in your Postbank Web and Postbank App profiles.

Making transfers

If you had authorisation in WinBank to make credit transfers to third parties, you will retain active transfer rights in Postbank Web and Postbank App.

Transfers in Postbank Web will be authorised using a software token (m-Token Postbank) or a digital certificate/Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) combined with a one-time password sent by SMS (SMS OTP).

Transfers in the Postbank App mobile banking service will be authorised using a software token.

You can activate a software token through your Postbank Web profile. A prerequisite is that the Bank has your complete and accurate personal details, including a valid mobile phone number and email address registered with the Bank. You can request changes to your personal details at a Postbank branch.

Recurring transfers and payments

If you have recurring transfers set up in WinBank for automatic execution, they will be transferred to Postbank Web under “Transfers / Recurring Payments.” To ensure that the transfers continue to be executed automatically, the first payment must be confirmed once using the m-Token Postbank software token or a digital certificate/QES combined with an SMS OTP.

Recurring automatic transfers set up in WinBank to be executed on the last business day of the month will be transferred with an execution date of the 28th day of the month.

Subscriptions set up in WinBank for automatic credit card payments will not be transferred. In Postbank Web, under the “Cards” menu, you will have full information about amounts due, statements, card authorisations and transactions, and you will be able to make payments towards your credit cards in just a few clicks.

Information about your existing subscriptions will also be available in your Postbank Web profile under “Utilities and Taxes / Direct Debit / Utility Payments.”

Please note that if your subscriptions have a specified end date for payments, this information will not be transferred to Postbank’s system. In such cases, payments can only be discontinued by submitting a request at a Postbank branch.

You will be able to modify or terminate existing subscriptions at a Postbank branch of your choice.

Utility bill payments requiring manual confirmation: Existing subscriptions will be available in your Postbank Web profile under “Utilities and Taxes” and in the Postbank App under “Utilities.”

You will be able to make payments from BGN accounts or a credit card. To make utility and tax payments from a credit card, you will first need to request the relevant payment rights at a Postbank branch.

Before making your first payment, you will need to select the account or credit card from which you wish to make the payment.

Bulk payments (available to business customers only)

Through Postbank Web, you can make bulk payments to counterparties and government institutions, as well as bulk salary payments.

Postbank Web allows you to import a bulk payment file and split it into individual payment records, including the option to authorise and execute only a portion of the payments.

Bulk salary payments in foreign currency can only be initiated at a Postbank branch.

A full description of the functionality and file structure is available on www.postbank.bg – Digital Banking / Online Banking / Bulk Payments.
