Asen Yagodin
Deputy CEO, Member of the Management Board and Wholesale Banking head
Asen Yagodin is Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of “Corporate Banking and Capital Markets.” He began his professional career in 1993 as a teller at one of the Sofia branches of Bulgarian Postbank. That same year, he was transferred to the newly formed “Money and Capital Markets” department as a junior dealer, a position he went on to lead two years later.
Asen Yagodin is Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of “Corporate Banking and Capital Markets.” He began his professional career in 1993 as a teller at one of the Sofia branches of Bulgarian Postbank. That same year, he was transferred to the newly formed “Money and Capital Markets” department as a junior dealer, a position he went on to lead two years later. In 2001, Mr. Yagodin was elected to the Board of Directors of the financial institution, and from 2004 to 2011 he served as its CEO. Meanwhile, he held positions on the board of the Association of Banks in Bulgaria (ABB), serving as its vice chairman from 2010 to 2013. In 2009, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange - Sofia, and has served as its Chairman from early 2010 to the present. From 2011 to 2013, Mr. Yagodin served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank AD. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Bulstrad Life Vienna Insurance Group.
Mr. Asen Yagodin holds a master’s degree in Finance (1992) from the University of National and World Economy and a master’s degree in Business Administration (2005) from the American University in Bulgaria. Between 1994 and 2001, he gained additional professional experience through specializations at Salmon Smith Barney-London, the Austrian Institute for Financial Derivatives, the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance, and others.
In 2010, Mr. Asen Yagodin received the prestigious “Banker of the Year” award, and in 2012, he was awarded the “Mr. Economy” prize for his contribution to the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Bulgaria.
