Postbank

Dear customers,

We would like to inform you that during the period 15.11.2019 - 18.11.2019 is expected operational merger between Eurobank Bulgaria AD (Postbank) and Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD (Piraeus Bank) to take place. In order to complete successfully the integration process, there will be necessary changes related to execution of payments to and from customers’ accounts of Piraeus Bank as follows:

Payments in BGN:

Payment orders in BGN, submitted in the branches and offices of Piraeus Bank or via internet banking will be accepted till 12.00 h on 15.11.2019 and will be executed on the same day. After that time internet banking will be deactivated and branches and offices of Piraeus Bank will not work with clients. It is expected from 18.11.2019 (Date of Operative merger) the customers to be serviced by Postbank when the existing accounts of the customers of Piraeus Bank will be transferred to Postbank. 

All payments in BGN ordered to the account of customers of Piraeus Bank till 17.00 h on 15.11.2019 will be settled to the accounts before the transfer to Postbank. The funds will be available to the relevant accounts after the end of the operational merger.

It is important to know that the as of 18.11.2019 the account numbers of the clients of Piraeus Bank (IBANs) will be automatically changed with new IBAN numbers of Postbank. The new numbers can be checked on the web sites of both banks under section “IBAN generator”, and also trough the innovative application EVA Postbank.

We kindly ask the customers of Piraeus Bank to inform opportunely their counterparties about their new account numbers at Postbank as after 18.11.2019 the incoming payments with old IBANs of Piraeus Bank will not be executed and will be rejected by payment system.

Transfers in Foreign Currencies:

Payments in foreign currencies can be ordered from accounts of customers of Piraeus Bank in the branches and offices of Piraeus Bank or via internet banking till 12.00 h on 15.11.2019 and will be executed on same-day basis. It is expected from 18.11.2019 (Date of Operative merger) customers of Piraeus Bank to be serviced by Postbank when the existing accounts of customers of Piraeus Bank will be transferred to Postbank. As of this date new transfers in foreign currency can be executed.

Payments in foreign currencies received to the accounts of customers of Piraeus Bank till 16.30 h on 15.11.2019 will be settled to the accounts before the transfer to Postbank and will be available after the end of the operative merger. All transfers received from 16.30 h on 15.11.2019 till the end of operative merger process will be credited to the customers’ accounts in Postbank.

We kindly ask the customers to inform their counterparties about their new account numbers in Postbank. New account numbers of the clients of Piraeus Bank are automatically generated and can be checked on the web sites of both banks under section „IBAN generator“ and also trough the innovative application EVA Postbank.

In order to provide the best customers service, for a certain period of time Eurobank Bulgaria will process the incoming foreign currency payments with IBANs of Piraeus Bank Bulgaria.

Note: Payments ordered to accounts with IBANs of Piraeus Bank after 15.11.2019 may be returned or rejected by correspondent banks/payment systems and not reach the new accounts of the customers with Eurobank Bulgaria.
